BUDGET CUT NEWS FOR 2010-2011

• Layoffs:  The number of certificated layoffs in BHUSD going into 2010-2011 = zero!  On May 13, 2010, the Board of Education decided against laying off any teachers for next year.
   
• Furloughs:  On May 13, the Board of Education authorized the district to enter into contract negotiations with BHEA on the possibility of one or more furlough days for 2010-2011.  BHEA looks forward to a thorough budget analysis in these bilateral talks.
